When I’m reminded to look back 12 months around what we’ve accomplished – as I was this weekend – we should be amazed.
Last January, when we toured the current investment group around the resort on Skidoos, it was hard to portray the link between the resort as it was with today’s vibrant resort.
As I stood in the snow at the base this past Sunday, I was amazed.
Full lifts, fat bikes for demo, race programs happening, snow school programs, kids learning to ski and snowboard on the magic carpet, amazing BBQ hamburgers at the Hub for sale, and mother nature giving us the perfect day of sunny and -4C.
We’ve decided that as long as it doesn’t snow, we might as well try to be the best at snow grooming. The nightly fleet of grooming machines rumbles all over the mountain in their efforts to make the best carpet. It’s pretty easy here, the highest base elevation in Canada gives us cool nights with low humidity. This keeps the snow cool and dry, even when it warms up during the day. I heard the words “silk-like” several times.
How do we thank our loyal guests and also continue to spread the good news that Baldy is Back?
I conducted this promotion in the east once, and it was a hit.
For the Month of February – on Tuesdays and Wednesdays – all lift tickets are $5.00!
The steps to become a skier or snowboarder are rife with challenges. In the industry, we call it reducing the barriers to entry. The perception that the sport is too expensive is one of the obstacles. So, let’s kick this attitude to the curb with this ridiculously awesome price promotion.
Baldy fans, you can help by telling your friends and family
And as always, thanks for letting me work at your mountain, I consider it a privilege.
