Fabulous terrain, beautiful soft snow, amazing people and scenery beyond description. Baldy is an INCREDIBLE resort.
From the start of the season, we were trying to drive traffic with our many programs and promotions. But we just weren’t seeing enough traction!
Finally, in January, it started working on the weekends. Now we’re trying to fill in the weekdays.
This week we filled the parking lots and lifts on Tuesday and Wednesday. I can’t tell you how excited we are about this.
Originally this resort was marketed as a “Powder Mountain”. When I did my analysis of the resort, I asked: “what happens when it does not snow”?
The answer: not much.
A thriving resort fills in the weekdays with promotions, events, fundraising activities, tourists on vacation and school groups. We are slowly building these business units, but it’s taken us all winter to get here.
January was a lot of effort. We waited for the activities and promotions to gain traction. We waited, and waited.
Then this past Thursday we hosted 110 elementary school kids, and we’ve been busy selling season passes to tons of skiers and riders from neighbouring resorts. Baldy is hopping.
Like I said, “finally”!
